About Us

Stacie serves as a correctional officer with the Correctional Service Canada, accumulating 15 years of experience. Throughout her tenure, she’s encountered incidents that might seem like fictional tales to the average person.

Stacie boasts a diverse background, primarily in the animal industry, where her horses and dogs hold significant places in her heart. Since the inception of CX Solid, Stacie has begun to take horses to Edmonton Max for mental wellness breaks for officers and instituional staff. She was also certified in Equine Assisted Learning so as to offer officers hands on learning with the horses they have grown to know and love.

We are excited to announce that a longtime supporter and cheerleader for CX Solid has joined our ranks!

Karlina has been there from the start in both a volunteer and idea capacity. Her passion for mental health has been paramount to bringing awareness to helping us end the stigma that is attached to it by bringing awareness to the problem

Coming from a management and retail background, she brings us a wealth of knowledge in sales and social media usage.

Stacie's Idea Takes Root...

Over the span of 2 hours while I was on duty, three different officers came up to me separately, wanting to talk about their stress and how to deal with it. One of them seemed like they needed a break, so I invited them over to my place for coffee. My pets, including my little dog, seemed to help him relax as we chatted. That got me thinking about using animals to help people in tough situations.

I thought about inviting folks to my house to hang out with my dogs and horses, but that seemed complicated. Then, I met someone who does Equine Wellness Therapy. It seemed perfect for officers dealing with stress. But there was a hitch – the cost. Insurance didn’t cover it, and I didn’t want to add more stress by asking them to spend a lot.

So, I started thinking about raising funds to give officers a chance to try alternative therapies. I asked Jane, who’s good at fundraising, for advice. With Michelle, who knows a lot about mental health, we formed a team.

It was a big learning curve sorting out the paperwork, but we did it! Now, we’re an official Non Profit organization called CX Solid Foundation, ready to help officers find ways to cope with stress.
